To support effective planning, delivery, and monitoring of agricultural extension services, the Kilimo Makueni Management Information System (MIS) shall collect and maintain accurate farmer profile data. The information captured enables the County Government of Makueni to tailor extension support, allocate resources efficiently, and strengthen service delivery across all value chains.
The data collected shall include, but not be limited to:
Farmer’s Full Name: To uniquely identify each farmer and maintain accurate individual records within the MIS.
Phone Number and Contact Information: To facilitate communication, follow-up, training invitations, real-time extension support, and feedback collection.
National Identification (ID) Number: To verify identity, avoid duplicate registration, and link farmer records to government programmes where legal identification is required.
Disability Status: To ensure inclusive service delivery, tailor interventions to special needs, and support planning for vulnerable groups.
Land Size and Land-Use Details: To guide extension advice, determine production potential, plan input distribution, and support monitoring of land-based projects.
Major Value Chains and Production Activities: To match farmers with relevant extension services, training, and market opportunities based on their primary enterprises.
All data shall be collected in accordance with applicable data protection laws and used solely for agricultural planning, extension services, programme targeting, and reporting. Access to the data shall remain restricted to authorised officers, and appropriate safeguards shall be applied to ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and responsible use.
